I built this truck to commemorate the establishment of our Family Business Lakenor Auto Salvage Santa Fe Springs, in 1952. The build was completed in 2012 in honor of my Grandfather and Father who started our company and my son the fourth generation family member to run the company, and brought it into the industries consolidation which is now know as LKQ Corporation a Public Multi National Corporation.
The truck was born with a straight six with three on the tree...It now has a 300hp 350 Chevy Engine bolted to a Turbo 350 trans, pushed by an EL Camino Posi Diff with 3:07 highway gears..It has modern gauges fitted to the stock dash, T&T steering, cruise control, A/C, a Mustang Front Suspension with Disc Power Brakes. Tried to keep it looking like it was built by GM but just had to add a few tricks, just to make it mine.
